Tennessean Norris Hall is one of Middle Tennessee's most commissioned artists, featuring a kaleidoscope of whimsical characters in the form of animals and other colorful images which have been displayed in galleries, museums, fine craft shops, and gift shops from coast to coast. The Austin Peay State University graduate began his career in the hills of East Tennessee, where he developed his own distinctive, signature style, which is apparent with each piece he designs.
For the past 20 years, Norris has been churning out all manner of expression, including painting, sculpture, prints, murals, furniture, and other functional home accessories, all with the colorful wit that has become associated with his art.
For the past 10 years or so, he has concentrated on developing a series of clocks.
Norris has completed a vast number of publicly and privately commissioned works, including a project for Disneyland, Paris, where he designed and painted three 25-foot "Nashville Cats" sculptures installed atop the Thunder Mountain Roller Coaster.
Also, he was commissioned by the State of Tennessee to design two new automobile license plates, available statewide at any county motor vehicle department.
He was voted "Best Visual Artist" in a Nashville Poll in 1996 and has been featured on most of the local television news and talk shows in Nashville and Chattanooga, as well as a national television appearance on The Nashville Network. He has also been spotlighted in the Nashville Tennessean, Knoxville News Sentinel, Chattanooga Free Press, Murfreesboro Daily News Journal, Chicago Tribune, Murfreesboro Magazine and Southern Living Magazine.
One of his most recent projects was illustrating the award winning children's book "The All Animal Band" written by Jim Moore.
He is a member of the Tennessee Association of Craft Artists and resides with his wife, Linda, their dog Maxi and their cat Kitta, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Norris and Wendy are from the same hometown. In fact their moms are good friends. Wendy has been a huge fan of Norris Hall since she was in High School (back in the 80's) when Norris first started doing his whimsical art.
Now getting the chance to create birth announcements, shower invitations, birthday invitations and thank you cards with Norris' work is very exciting! We hope that you will think so too!!
